100 for 100 Campaign
For nearly a century, Gordon-King Memorial United Church—affectionately known as The Big Red Church—has stood at the heart of Glenelm. Built in 1927, it has been more than a church; it has been a gathering place, a home for laughter, learning, music, and community spirit.
Within these walls, you’ll find a buzz of activity. The Big Red Church opens its doors to everyone, offering a space where neighbours become friends, community comes alive and continues to serve as a vibrant hub of life in Glenelm.
Now, as we look toward our 100th anniversary in 2027, we face an urgent challenge. Our beloved building needs a new roof so we can continue to welcome the community for another century. Without it, we risk losing not just a structure, but the space where so many memories have been made—and where so many more are waiting to happen.
That’s why we’ve launched the “100 for 100” campaign:
$100,000 to keep The Big Red Church open for 100 more years.
