Summer has arrived and with it a number of lovely new things are happening at the church! One is that we have a four member Green Team and you will meet the members below. Two is that we have a new Little Red Library located at the front of the church ... the big door is for books applicable to adults and the little door for books applicable to kids. Three is that we have all of our garden boxes rented by neighbours to grow some lovely fresh produce. COVID 19 may be full of restrictions but here at The Big Red Church we still have a lot happening!
PVG Street Eats Food Truck
Due to the incredible support of the food truck, we are inviting it back for August 11th and 25th! Don't cook those nights but come buy some food truck delights!!!
New logo for the church ...
We are excited to have a new logo for The Big Red Church and stay tuned to see all the places it is going to show up!
The Little Red Library ...
The Little Red Library is up outside of the church. The large door holds books for adults and the small door holds books for children. Come check it out!!!
Welcome to Trevor Dyck!
Trevor is one of the members of our 4 member Green Team this summer and will have a very specific focus on dealing with historical items at the church along with various other responsibilities.
Young Green Team
The Urban Green Team grant enabled the Big Red Church permitted us to hire three of our youth (Ryan,Tyler and Munro). Until the end of July, they will be mowing the grass around the church, weeding and watering the garden, and, on rainy days, keeping the sanctuary dust-free. If time permits, they will also be picking up debris from the neighbourhood.
Box gardens ...
We have several box gardens and every single one is rented by a neighbour or church member. It is exciting to be able to offer this to the community that surrounds us!
More box gardens ...
We are SO EXCITED that all our boxes are rented out and will be providing people in the community with fresh grown produce!
Garden beauty ...
If you walk by the church this is just one of the many gorgeous gardens you will see! A dedicated volunteer - Betty - weeds and waters them!
